I’m a web programmer in search of a better programming environment. and i tried the latest ubuntu and it was very glitchy and laggy. Not sure if it was just my computer or there were some problems with it but idk, But which is the best for a ruby on rails developer?

  2. All of them. Although for a web-dev, you probably want some type of server style OS. I’d go with CentOS. It’s a rebuild of RHEL and is pretty solid. You could also go with a Debian system. If you’re unfamiliar to Linux, try Ubuntu 10.04 LTS or Linux Mint Debian Edition.
