If I load Linux Fedora onto a disk and boot from it will I lose all my windows 7 files and info?

I would like to test fedora 16 because I am building a desktop and dont want to load it without checking it out first. I am going to test it on my Windows 7 64-bit labtop. Will booting linux destroy all my windows stuff or can I just return the boot priority list to normal and boot windows again safely with ALL my info?

  2. If by disk you mean a cd disk; yes you can run/test fedora from the live cd and it will not destroy the files on your hard drive unless you tell it to remove the files. It will run entirely from the cd and ram and not automatically install or remove any files from the hard drive.
When you remove the cd and reboot all your windows files will be intact.
