Dual Boot Linux Fedora and Windows 7 – 2 Separate Drive?

January 17, 2011 – 12:30 am

I have Windows 7. I plan to get another new drive and install Fedora Linux on it. How would I set to dual boot from 2 separate drives?

Thank you.

  2. Install windows first, when you do, leave how much space you want for your linux hdd (+4 gigs for the swap it will create).

Then put the Fedora disk in and when it asks where to install/partition setup, choose largest continuos free space. also check the box that says you wish to "review" what it does and write down the drive letters for windows so you can make sure it adds it as a boot entry.

If you are new to linux, I suggest a distro that is geared towards newer users; Linux mint, http://www.linuxmint.com

It’s easier, and the install is faster and all the codecs run out of the box (including 64 bit flash).
If it’s your first time to installing linux, go Linux Mint, you will thank me for it later.
