I'm running an apache webserver with mysql perl php mercury mail and torrentflux will that be enough or will i notice a huge difference to upgrade much more? Notice i said Huge if this setup is adequate then i'll save my $ for gas :)

I have opened and edited my httpd.conf with Notepad. Is it okay to do this or does saving it using Notepad corrupt the file? The reason I am asking is because when I did some online reseach, it was suggested in a forum to use BBEdit. Is there some reason ...

I have set up a VPS for a new proxy site for my school, so it will probably have 100 people on at a time, and my specs are:
0.4GHZ, 256MB RAM, 10Gb storage, 250GB bandwidth
Should i go for Lighttpd or Apache as the server?

I am trying to upload wordpress and the apache logs are over riding it and the site just stays the same.

When a user views a webpage (i.e. http://localhost/mySite/Test) I would like for a file to be associated with that directory? So, a user types in http://localhost/mySite/Test and http://localhost/mySite/Test/myFile.php for example.

I just downloaded Apache HTTP Server 2.2 and i am trying to edit the notepad titled "httpd". If you have ever used Apache HTTP Server u know what folder i am talking about. When I try to edit it I get a access denied message...anyone know why?
